The Road Home Terms and Conditions

BY CHECKING “I accept these Terms and Conditions” BELOW YOU ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE WITH THE TERMS LISTED BELOW AND THAT YOU ARE THE OWNER OF THIS ACCOUNT OR ELSE ARE AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT THIS AGREEMENT ON THE OWNERS BEHALF.

In consideration of the foregoing, the parties agree as follows:

I. Definitions
“The Road Home” means the website located at http://roadhomeculinary.com
“Staff” means Heide Lang, Gabrielle Siegel, and any other moderator of this website.
“We” means the staff of The Road Home.
“Author” means any registered user submitting materials for review to be published on The Road Home.
“Profile Page” means the author archive page displaying their name, picture, optional information, and past posts.
“Post” means an article published on The Road Home

II. Originality
All materials submitted for review to be published on The Road Home (http://roadhomeculinary.com/) (including, but not limited to: writing, recipes, photography, drawings and video/audio materials) must be the authors original material or else the author must own the rights to submit them for publication and properly credit all Materials from personal blogs or websites may be submitted, so long as the author is the sole creator of all materials, or has the express permission in writing of any co-authors or artists to submit their materials under his/her name. Recipes based on other recipes must be properly credited and heavily modified. Failure to comply will result in the removal of the user’s account and any posts he/she has written, as well as his/her indefinite suspension from all operations by The Road Home, at the discretion of the staff.

III. Code of Behavior
Be polite and honest. The Road Home reserves the right to remove or block any user at any time that is behaving inappropriately. Such inappropriate behaviors may include spamming, creating fake accounts, and using inappropriate language in either posts or comments.

IV. Food Safety
The recipes on this site, as with any recipe, must be looked at with a critical eye. The Road Home staff cannot test all of the recipes on this site. Always check meat and fish to make sure it is fresh and safely prepared. The Road Home accepts no responsibility for food poisoning resulting from recipe inaccuracy.

V. Prizes
Each month, one (1) prize will be awarded to that author who has received the most comments on all posts submitted in that month. Only those posts and comments posted between the first and final day of a given month will be considered. Commenting capabilities will remain open indefinitely on each post, but any comment considered in awarding the monthly prize must be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. on the final day of that month. Only those comments published on the post’s individual page on http://roadhomeculinary.com will be considered. The winner will be that user who has received the most total comments on all posts he/she has had published in that month. No prizes will be awarded retroactively, and all decisions are final except in the event of a calculation error. While users are encouraged to share posts on social networks, comments made on such sites (including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Foodgawker, Food52 and Tastespotting) will not be considered. Likewise comments on an author’s profile, personal blog, or past posts will not be considered.

VI. Intellectual Property
All materials submitted (including, but not limited to: writing, recipes, photography, drawings and video/audio materials) become the shared intellectual property of both The Road Home and the author. Staff may publish any materials both on The Road Home and in any other manner the see fit, both online and in print, so long as they credit the author by name. The author may also publish their own personal materials both online and in print, if they so desire.

VII. Personal Information
Any information submitted that is not expressly marked as hidden/private may be displayed publicly, with the exception of my email address, and any other form of contact (including phone number or address), which will always be kept private, and will never be shared with anybody.
